WHERE ARE THEY NOW?!
Here's an opportunity for you to give us an update of the past missing 30+ or - years.  We would also like you to give us an update of missing Fraters!  Send me stuff!

From Frater Larry Chottiner:  We have been in Lancaster, PA for seven years now.  I am the Senior Pastor of the Highland Presbyterian Church.  My son is a professional golfer and is living in Hilton Head for the winter but will be on the staff of Five Farms, Baltimore CC this coming summer.
On another note, David Crouch lives in Mechanicsburg, PA.  I'll have to track down his address for you.  HIs daughter and mine attend Millersville University.  They even were out on some formal together, which I reminded David was a scary thought, especially if they acted at all like their fathers.

From Frater Rich Burgess (Limey):..  I think one of your posted pictures has me swigging a beer with Joe DesPlaines.  I've calmed down a bit since my Limey/Limeford days now working for JPMorganChase.
I live in Floral Park, NY (Long Island), married to Liz since 1973, and have two sons, Michael (25) who works for Citibank, and Peter (21) who is a senior (biology major) at Franklin & Marshall College in Lancaster, PA.  He plays lacrosse so we'll be in PA to see his games this spring so a TKE golf reunion at that time might be a fit.

I see you are looking for Coup.  Liz and I were with him in November visiting with he and his wife Pat, at his Mom's house in Towaco, NJ.  Coup now lives in North Carolina on the Outer Banks having just retired there and is golfing quite a bit.  His e-mail is coupar@beachlink.com and I'm forwarding your e-mail to him.

From Frater Perry Tchorni (Whale):...Good morning. You will have to forgive me, allot has transpired during the past several months. At times I forget that there has been a TIME LAG. It sounds like you are enjoying retirement.

We picked up and moved closer to where I work. After 24 years, that two hour commute had finally got to me. Our new Mailing address is 963 Washington Valley Road, Basking Ridge, N.J. 07920. I have just started my twenty-seventh year working for County Government of Somerset.( Go George Bush). My wife is a Human Resources Director for a mid size for profit corporation that operates group homes, in several states, for emotionally disturbed youth. My daughter Kate is twenty and is a junior, majoring in criminal Justice at York College of Pennsylvania. My son Matt will be 22 soon and is training to be a professional firefighter.

I will send a updated photo soon.       Perry

From Frater Jim Hoke: ...Your Web page has brought back memories.
I have only been back to "Berg" once and that was three years ago as I was taking my daughter to see some schools in Western PA.  I wanted to show my wife and her the TEKE house.
I went up to knock on the door and notice the sign was down but thought nothing else of the house.
When I knocked on the door a small kid answered and was dumb founded when I ask were the TEKES were, he acted as if he had never heard of them.  Then we took a tour of the College and found out all fraternities were gone-- What a disappointment.

I have been in education for thirty two years (2 in York PA and 30 at the present site ChambersburgPA.
I taught 20 years in the Classroom, 6 years as a Co-op Coordinator and Assistant Principal and 6 years as Adult Education Administrator.  Looking for an early window to retirement.

Linda Pelton and I were divorced in "76" no kids  love those Sig Kapps and I remarried in "78" to a young lady with two children from North Plainfield NJ( there has got to be somebody from North Plainfield among the TEKE Alumni)  We have one daughter between
us she is twenty.  My step son is an occupational therapist in Boca Raton Florida and our step daughter is a past Peace Corp member( Shades of Bill Horter) and working at the Carter Center in Atlanta Georgia.
My wife is a nursing home administrator
As for the Ravens, well I am still the same as I was in the 60' s about Baltimore.  I am in the Baltimore TV area and Watch Don Scott and Marty Bass every morning but  I still am not on Orioles or Raven's Band Wagon
My Step Son has Season tickets for the Ravens  and has no problem selling each game even though he has moved to Florida over
two tears ago--- so I guess I want them to win.

That's my life, it has been good, but I am looking forward to retirement.
We vacation in Naples Florida each fall and maybe will move down there when my wife and I retire
Please keep me informed and I really like what you have done with the memories

From Frater Phil Harris (Booger):   I was just on your site and was looking at the photos - great!!  Where did you find them.  They bring back good memories - You can almost smell the stale beer.  The one older photo has a picture of Bob Gerardine, Ed Wotjanowski, Mark Zurblis and Brian Pizzi.  Joe Denti and I talk with Brian from time to time.  He owns his own law firm in Washington,Pa.  I am going to call him and give him the site address.  There is a tall fellow in the center
of the photo I am referring to - do you know who that is? I'm not sure.  Let
me know if you do.

I just taked with Joe today.  He was giving me an update on his holidays.  We were going to get together but on Friday before new years I was in the hospital.  The last chemo treatment left me a little weak and I got a mild infection.  Good news is I was able to get home new years eve.  Didn't do much but it was good to be home.  I am preparing for another round of chemo treatments in a few weeks then in late February it looks like the doctor want to do a bone marrow transplant.

Keep up the good work and have a great new year.  I'll try to keep in touch -
You do the same.

From Frater Larry Petersen & Heemerit's Heemer. How are you? Long time no see. What a great idea you are trying to put together this reunion. Hey, I got lots of addresses from the email-thanks. Larry's address is larrygpetersen@cs.com ok. He told me to tell you as of today he is in the  75% category ok. He is job hunting now and not totally
aware of any projected schedule at this time. My question is, is this just for the fraters? If so, I'll go hang out with Becky or something that wkend,
we'll try to plan a trip up that way around your event. Keep him posted.

Guess he'll get all caught up then. We have seen the Pauliny's and the Clays over the years. Just last Oct. for golf in MD & VA Have not seen the Smelkos or Otto in ages. All's well with us. The kids are grown. Karin still in college part-time and Erik now in law school in DC. We've been in Florida for 6+yrs now after being in CA for 12. My whole family is here and Larry's Mom in northern FL. Hope we don't have to move again but we'll see.

Keep us posted on the event ok.

Thanks Linda

From Frater Jim Coupar:  Sorry it took so long to respond to your email, I can get mail but I can't  send any so I'm replying from an old account I was just about to get rid of.
Great to hear from you.  I would definitely be interested in a golf outing.  I have been retired since last July.  In September we moved to a golf  community on the Outer Banks of North Carolina, so I have been relearning golf after a 25 year layoff.  The other email I have is Grant Wilson
cgwilson@ptd.net.  I have an address for Strukel but I don't know his email.
We were out to visit them in Michigan a couple of years ago.

From Frater Mark Zurblis:     Greetings & Salutations....................

As I told Limey, reports of my death have been greatly exaggerated.  Good to hear from you.  I saw you and your family's pic and I noticed that you are graying.  But at least you still have hair.  I am also amazed that I have still have hair and it is still blond (with a hint of graying around the ears).  It's the only physical thing I have that remains "youthful."  It was fun to look at the "old men" and see what they look like today after not seeing them for nearly 40 years.  How many of the brothers are on Viagra now?  Do you keep a tally of this?

You may not believe this but I never did see Hink or Nitro after leaving the Burg. Right after graduation, the warden, excuse me, I mean my wife and I moved to Massachusetts.  In 1968 we moved to the Chicago area.  In 1990 we moved to Charleston, SC and in Sept. of last year we moved back to the Chicago area - not by choice - we loved South Carolina.  There are only two seasons in South Carolina: Summer and January.  And there are only two seasons in Chicago: Winter and August.  We much preferred Summer and January.  But you gots do do whats you gots to do.  As regards Hink & Nitro, I have no idea where they are but I suspect thet are still in "Joisey.".

I have only seen one person from the Burg after leaving, and it was a short while after leaving.  In the fall of 1967 my wife and I were walking on a downtown Boston street when I hear this voice yelling "Hey, Zurb."  I looked and there was Ray "Skinner" Pearl hailing me from the passenger side window of a passing car.  Ray was a good guy despite the fact he was a Theta Chi.  And Ray was the first and last person I have seen from my college days.  The fact that I left the east has a lot to do with this.

Well, I am still married to the same woman. Why she has put up with me for so many years I'll never understand.  And our love life is still great.  Why just the other evening she greeted me at the front door in her negligee........................unfortunatley she was just coming home.  I cried..........................I was peeling onions at the time.

In any case, here are the particulars:

From Frater Grant Wilson:

Hi Jovan--this is Grant Wilson's e-mail.  He is alive and well in Hardyston, NJ (beautiful Sussex County),  still pounding nails after all these years.  He and his charming wife, Carol, have two children: Eric, a junior in HS, and Amy in 8th grade.  Need we say more?  Grant regrets he is not a duffer and will not be in York, but he wishes you all the best and will catch you guys another time.  Also, needless to say, he is computer illiterate, so his charming wife is playing the secretary role.

From Frater George Sidorakis:

I've been reading with interest the plans
for reunion.  I'm living in California,  divorced with 2 young children,
work for Delta Air Lines and spend most of my free time chasing the kids and
my girl friend.  I will try to update you further at another time.

From Frater Dom DeGregorio:

Unfortunately, I'm not retired like some of the fraters, although I wish I was. Right now I'm still at the office and it's after 7:00pm having been here since 7:30am, so you can see my days are pretty long, not to mention crazy.  I've been working for AT&T for the last 12 years and currently at the Headquarters building in Basking Ridge, NJ. We are undergoing yet another company restructure. This time we're splitting it up into for companies and will either spin them off or keep them attached to the parent, but with their own tracker stock.  This along with my organization's budgetary issues has been making my life pretty chaotic.

I'm going to be brief right now so I can head home, but will follow up with another email.

I'm a very strong yes for attending the golfing reunion at York, although I don't golf.  Always said I would take it up when I retire. Can't wait!
My wife, Carole is teaching 6th grade science at the school district in the town we live(Succasunna, NJ), and we have 3 boys ages 21, 20 and 19. Now you know why I'm not retired.  Tuition and cars will do that.

I've been out to the web site briefly. Looks great and is a terrific idea. I'll try to see what I have to contribute and send a picture or two.
I'll write back soon.

From Frater  Ben Hirsh:

Hi Doug,

I have been reading with earnest your updates and I have reviewed the website. It is almost embarrassing that I haven't responded or kept up with my friends from college. Especially since I make my home on the Eastern Shore of Maryland. I am interested in your proposed get together but I am not sure I can commit at this time.

Just a personal update. I have been married for 27 years and have 2 kids. My daughter is attending Bryn Mawr in PA and my son is at Bard in NY. I have recently retired from Kent County Public Schools after 31.5 years. The last 10 as Director of Pupil Services. I am currently serving  as a consultant with the Maryland State Department of Education. It seems as if I am working more now.

The reason I may not make the golf outing is that my son is in Russia and my wife and I are working on visiting him while he is in St Petersburg. We go when the dear Russians invite us and one time is around the time of the golf outing.

Well enough for now keep the site going.

YITB,

Ben Hirsh
From Frater Lance Kearns:

Hello Doug,

My god, you have done a WONDERFUL job on the TKE website.  I have just blown off a whole afternoon looking at all the old pictures. What a memory.

My life has changed (like everyone elses) a lot since graduation in 1971.   I left Waynesburg and moved to Newark Delaware for six and a half years where I got my MS degree in Coastal work and PhD in
Mineralogy (I was a Geology major at the 'burg of course).  I got a job here at James Madison University in 1977 and have been here ever since. I am now in my 26th year.

I married Joan Koch (aka Snoopy - The Head Beagle) immediately after graduation in 1971.  We had two girls - Jessica (24) and Janel (23). However, after 19 years of marriage, we split.   Joan still lives
about 3 blocks from me.  One of my daughters is also in town, but the youngest is in Philidelphia.  In 1991 I remarried.  My Wife's name is Cindy.  She is originally from Buffalo, N.Y., has a BS in geology from Syracuse University and an MS in geology from the University of Akron, Ohio.  She is the geology technician for the geology
department here at James Madison University (i.e. we work together).

Since Cindy and I have been together, we are active in water skiing, boating, traveling (especially to the Caribbean), and training dogs. We have two Australian Shepherds.

I occasionally see Gene and Barb Genova, and a few emails go back and fourth.  Several years ago Skip Vibert (lives somewhere in northern Virginia) stopped by, but I have not heard from him since.I have totally lost touch with everyone else.

As far as Waynesburg College goes, I told them to "stick it".  When I heard that they closed the TKE house (and other Greeks) a few years back, I sent them a go-to-hell letter.  You remember that they also
eliminated the Geology Dept., so without a major or a fraternity, who needs them.  I told them that I did not want to be contacted in any manner for anything and that if it was legally possible that I wanted my name removed from their alumni list.

OK, I will shut up for a while.  I would love to hear from you, Doug.  Again the website is GREAT.   If you are interested I will dig up a few pictures from the good ole days and email them to you.

Lance

From Frater Rich Strukel:

Hi Doug,

I received your postcard in the mail yesterday and was pleasantly surprised to see the Internet site and what it contained.  It brought back a lot of memories of the great times we had at the House and at Waynesburg.  I am currently living in Oakland, Michigan a town approximately thirty miles North of Detroit.  The past July I completed thirty years with Volkswagen of America mainly in the Accounting Department.  I am eligible for retirement but still enjoy working and the doing the travel associated with the job. I've been happily married to Rosemary for twenty-nine years and have three great daughters Meredith, Allison and Jennifer.  Meredith graduated from Oakland University (A State University in Rochester, MI) and is currently living in Denver and working for VW Credit.  Allison graduated from Michigan State University and is a merchandising planner at K-Mart Headquarters in Troy, MI.  Jennifer  is my last one in college.  She attends Charleston Southern University in Charleston, SC.  Jennifer is a senior and finished her college soccer career this fall.  She had a scholarship to play and for
the last four years Rosemary and I have traveled from Maine to Georgia to see her play. Next year we have to find another activity to keep us busy in the Fall.

Your Golf outing sounds great.  I hope to make it there in May.

With best Regards,

Struk

From Frater Bill Buchanan:

Doug,

Thanks for the post card.  More importantly thanks for the time and effort to re-connect us.

Lynn ad I will be married 36 years Feb12th.  Many of the fraters came to the wedding reception. The fraternity was on probation, again.

We have two sons and a daughter.  David wife Brooke and granddaughter Lucy live in D. C. ;Paul lives in Omaha ; Jennifer lives in Tucson, Az.

I am still trying to figure out how to make governments work  and have been here for almost 11 years.  This county has 2,600 employees and I am the CEO/CAA.

Lynn is a professional volunteer and gives away her time and my money.  Life is good.

It was great to see the pictures, and read about my beloved fraters.

Good job and thanks.
Bill

From Frater Dave Tranchand:

Great to see the photos and dredge up all those memories.  Beverly (nee Reynolds - Waynesburg '71) have had a lot of fun looking at them.  Interesting how many of us gravitated towards education and government.

We live just outside of Tallahassee, the state capital.  I have 22 years now with the State of Florida including several with Florida State University (you may have heard of that little southern school) where I got an M.S. and now work as a Senior Legislative Analyst for the Florida Legislature in an education policy group.  Beverly has 26 years of service at Florida State University and works in the sponsored research area.  2 daughters, 2 grandchildren.

We're glad you yankees stayed up north, somebody has to shovel the snow!
